Conference “Food Safety: Global and National Products”.

Dear colleagues,
On October 14-15, 2024, at the invitation of colleagues from Sharof Rashidov Samarkand State University (SamSU), representatives of Rus-LASA participated in the conference “Food Safety: Global and National Products.”
During the conference, presentations were made by M.L. Lovat, “Do Standard Laboratory Feeds for Rodents Meet Their Physiological Needs?”; E.A. Litvinova, “Innovations in Biotechnology as an Important Step for Achieving Food Security”; E.A. Kushnir, “The Activities of the Quality Assurance Department in Assessing Food Safety on Animals”; and E.D. Ivleva, “Formation of a Scientific Community of Specialists Conducting Animal Research, Using Rus-LASA as an Example.”

Hospitable colleagues from SamSU gave the delegates a warm welcome and gave them a tour of the university grounds, demonstrating the laboratories, greenhouse, zoological museum, and vivarium. In addition, representatives of the Uzbek Association of Laboratory Animal Specialists (ULASA) organized a meeting with colleagues from the Samarkand Veterinary Academy, a ULASA member. During this meeting, Rus-LASA representatives were welcomed by the Academy’s rector and given a tour of the premises and grounds where the animals used by the Veterinary Academy for student training and veterinary research are kept.
Finally, E.D. Ivlev visited the GLP-accredited Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines in Tashkent.
