The goal of the program is to equip staff working with laboratory rodents with the latest knowledge and skills required by Russian law and international standards, both for conducting experimental research using laboratory animals and for organizing their care and qualified care in a modern vivarium.
The course provides specialized theoretical and practical training in approaches to manipulating laboratory rodents in animal care and experiments in accordance with international EU requirements, confirmed by a state-issued certificate. This course is developed in accordance with the updated requirements of the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA) and is aligned with the program for specialists performing experimental procedures with animals (FELASA A function).
The course consists of 50 academic hours (see Appendix 1).
The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
The theoretical part will be held online on the Moscow State University platform “University Without Borders.” Students will have access to video recordings of lectures and quizzes on all topics. In addition, lecturers will organize remote seminars to answer questions from students on their topics. You can watch lectures and complete assignments at any time. All tests must be successfully passed by the start of the practical part—this is a prerequisite for admission to the practical part!
The practical part will be held at the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine, Lomonosov Moscow State University, located at 27 Lomonosovsky Prospekt, Bldg. 1, in two streams (lasting three full school days). Classes are held from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Upon completion of the course and subject to successful completion of the assessment work, students receive a certificate of advanced training at the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Moscow State University in the established form.
The goal of the training is to teach participants how to plan animal manipulations to monitor their condition during experiments, prevent sudden death during difficult procedures, and ultimately improve the quality of experimental animal research.
Masterclass participants receive international FELASA certificates.

The round table will discuss the organization of work of bioethics commissions in various Russian research centers. (It will be held as part of the GLP Planet conference.)
They are organized within the framework of scientific schools and conferences, where practical skills of working with animals are developed in small groups.

Humanite Euthanasia
The method used for humane animal euthanasia must meet two conditions:
1. It must cause the animal a minimum amount of pain and suffering.
2. Death must occur as quickly as possible.
Also important in the choice is the scientific interest and the effect of the euthanasia method on the biological material obtained from the animals. To help you make the right decision, we provide a list of useful literature below. (The list is provided by the training module on the platform https://researchanimaltraining.com/ module 06.humane methods of killing)
